I haven't written in a long time but I wanted to share something pretty hilarious. It takes a lot to get me to actually read anything out loud, so I had to post. Enjoy..

Flying sucks.

Especially when you have a connection and your first flight arrives late. And then you have to run from one end of the terminal to the other end of the terminal or arrive the next day. So with three minutes to make your flight, you come across as either crazy, a bi*** or both. And then, out of breath, you take your seat, fall asleep, and the captain won't shut up and the stewardess wakes you up to watch the video you've seen about a hundred thousand times about what to do if the plane goes down. I can tell you one thing. If the plane goes down, I won't be using my seat cushion as a floatation device smiling. I'll be freaking the f out praying to God. And then you get to the city you need to get to, for a very important 9 AM meeting the next day, and the airline loses your bag with all your belongings in it. So you go to bed naked, wear the same clothes you wore the day before and drag your butt to Kinkos at 6 AM to get more presentations made. That's why flying sucks. But that's just me. Fly the friendly skies my a**!!

Best Horoscope Ever

I just read my horoscope for this month from The L Magazine and loved it so much, I wanted to post it.

The soundtrack of your life of late has been a little heave on the Appalachian murder ballads don't cha think? Have you ever considered relinquishing authority over compiling your personal soundtrack? You know, letting the universe at large select the track order, from the happy songs to the sad? Spontaneity and uncertainty can be pretty liberating (end with a waltz).

Transformation of the Species

I am so over the moon that I am taking the step (finally) to get a hair cut and color after my last fiasco in May. I never want to go through that again (crying for days and being way too dramatic) so I've put it off. But alas, I can't wait anymore. I feel scraggly. I think a new hair cut will help.

As always, I am looking to my usual inspiration Anouk Aimee. I love her look. So retro sexy--and French, which is very important. KT, you remember, no? I miss those days when Nina and Lorna took over. So fun!

The big transformation is set for next Saturday 12/18. I'll share a before and after if it comes out okay. Otherwise, don't hold your breath!

It's raining again in NY and I'm going to go watch a DVD.

Weekend Update

This weekend was hectic. I did a lot of running around while trying to catch up on sleep. I woke up too late to go to something I usually go to on Saturday mornings so I was bummed. I went to an alternative instead and it was just as good.

Last night, I went to see Ali Eskandarian again.

This guy can sing! It was so great to see him again. He reminds me of a cross between Rage Against The Machine, The Doors, Nusrat, Jeff and some Led Zep. He's very cool. And for a young lad at 24, phew! on the stage presence. He's got it down. He moves like a snake. But for those who know me, know that I mean that in a good way! I went with Ellen, Shasa and Jack.

Today was busy too. But fun. I went with Cassie to shop for her engagement ring. God it's so overwhleming. So many people to push through on 7th Avenue here. We looked at a few rings then just walked around and enjoyed the sunny day. I brought her home a little bit ago and now have to clean my messy room.

This week, I'm going to Chicago for work. I'm excited. I love it there. So pretty and clean.

More later!

Save It For A Rainy Day

It's pouring, cold and there's a wind advisory here in NYC. It's a great day for playing on the internet and looking around to fulfill a winter wish list. Since Nyla had up on her blog the boots she wants from Kenneth Cole, I'm starting my own boot fund. These aren't quite as expensive but hey, why not put them up? They are so cute. I'm a size 8 for those of you who want to know.

I am totally in love with the Tivoli Audio stereo. This is number one on my holiday wish list. It's so pretty, small, and the sound it gives out is amazing. Warm, beautiful and rich. I'm hoping that Dave's friend who is the Marketing Manager for Tivoli will come through with a sweet discount. Finger's crossed!

I just got back to Brooklyn from upstate, where I did nothing but stuff myself silly and sleep for hours. It was amazing. I spent a lot of time with both of my sisters, my Nana, all the neices and nephews, as well as cousins, aunts, uncles and dogs. It was so much fun but I now need to do some serious cardio over the next month to gear up for when I go back for Christmas.

I am happy to report that I spent some good one-on-one time with my sister Angela. It has been years since we went anywhere on our own. She took me out to lunch with a gift certificate she got for her birthday, where I continued the theme of stuffing myself silly.

We actually made each other laugh and it was light hearted. We listened to the awesome mix that Nyla made me on the way home and it totally brought us back to high school.

It was a really nice day and I want to remember it for a long time.

Well, I'm hungry from the 5 hour drive and am on my way to the store. I'll start cardio tomorrow. It's still the weekend, as I like to say...
